About IBPS PO (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Probationary Officers):
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, Conducts a common IBPS Bank PO Exam every year to recruit Probationary Officers in various banks that participate in this exam.
The Prelims exam is conducted generally in the month of October and the mains was conducted in November.
Once you qualify the whole exam (prelims, mains and interview), you are hired as a Probationary Officer in one of the participating banks as per your preference and merit.
1) IBPS PO Selection Process
The selection process will be completed in three phases:
Phase-I – Prelims
Phase-II – Mains
Phase-III – GD & Interview.

2) IBPS PO Mains Exam
Once clearing the prelims exam, then you will be eligible for mains exam. The marks of mains exam are added towards final merit list.

There is one-fourth negative marking in both Prelims and Mains for each question wrongly marked so attempt only confident questions.

SBI PO Exam Pattern
Similarly State Bank of India conducts SBI PO Exam in three phases: Online Prelims Exam, Mains Exam and Interview Process.
1) SBI PO Prelims Exam Pattern
SBI Preliminary Exam will be conducted online and will comprise of 3 sections namely Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude & English Language. The entire paper is to be completed in a time span of 1 hour.

Penalty for wrong answer: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every question attempted wrong by a candidate. So choose only correct answer. But No deduction will be there in marks if a question is left blank by a candidate.
2) SBI PO Mains Exam Pattern
PO Mains Exam will be conducted online and will comprise of 4 sections namely Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation & General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness, English Language.
The entire paper is to be completed in a time span of 3 hours. A descriptive paper will be conducted along with the above mentioned online test. It needs to be completed in a time span of 30 minutes and the maximum marks allotted to this test is 50.

Negetive marks for wrong answer: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every question attempted wrong by a candidate in SBI PO Mains Exam. But No deduction will be made in marks if a question is left unattempted or blank by a candidate in the exam.
Interview Process
Candidate who clears both the Prelims & Mains Exam of SBI PO will be further called for a GD-PI session wherein they will face a panel of selectors discussing on their past experience and questions related to General Knowledge and of the Banking Sector.
Therefor it is essential for a candidate to clear the Interview Process in order to ensure their final selection in the SBI PO Exam. However The qualifying marks for this round will be decided by the Bank and the marks allotted to these rounds are: Group Discussion – 20 marks, Interview – 30 marks.
Final Selection
After a candidate has gone through Personal Interviews, a merit list will be prepared by State Bank of India wherein the candidate’s score of Mains Exam and Interview Round will be taken into account.
Based on the score obtained by candidates and the available vacancies, final cut-off marks will be declared. All candidates who clear the cut-off range will be granted the Appointment Letter by State Bank of India for the post of Probationary Officer.
